Revelation 19
The Resurrection and Judgment Day

19 After this I heard what seemed to be the loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, crying out, “Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God, 2 for his judgments are true and just; for he has judged the great prostitute who corrupted the earth with her immorality, and has avenged on her the blood of his servants.”
This is referencing back to Revelation 17 and as we’ve shown, was the Harlot Church of Rome, who had corrupted the earth and killed many saints.
3 Once more they cried out, “Hallelujah! The smoke from her goes up forever and ever.” 4 And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who was seated on the throne, saying, “Amen. Hallelujah!”
5 And from the throne came a voice saying, “Praise our God, all you his servants, you who fear him, small and great.” 6 Then I heard what seemed to be the voice of a great multitude, like the roar of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, crying out, “Hallelujah! For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns. 7 Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready;
We see here, that the Resurrection/Rapture had taken place. This is obvious because one cannot have a marriage supper with just the groom (Jesus). His bride (we his people) were raptured and now is this spot in time between the Resurrection/Rapture and the judgment coming, called “The Marriage Supper of the Lamb.”
8 it was granted her to clothe herself with fine linen, bright and pure”, for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints. 9 And the angel said[a] to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” And he said to me, “These are the true words of God.” 10 Then I fell down at his feet to worship him, but he said to me, “You must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God.” For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
Some of us who know the Leviticus feast day timeline of events the feasts represent believe this time of the marriage supper of the Lamb is that time between the Feast of Trumpets Resurrection Tishri 1 and Tishri 10 Yom Kippur, the feast representing judgment day, which starts in verse 11. 11 Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war. 12 His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on his head are many diadems, and he has a name written that no one knows but himself. 13 He is clothed in a robe dipped in[b] blood, and the name by which he is called is The Word of God. 14 And the armies of heaven, arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, were following him on white horses. 15 From his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and he will rule[c] them with a rod of iron. He will tread the wine press of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty.
Here we see, contrary to those who think this judgment when he comes, is something that is going to burn the entire earth, he will rule the nations with a rod of iron. You can’t rule nations who don’t exist if they all get burned up in some kind of global inferno, but as we see here, judgment on the wicked is definitely happening and they do perish in this judgment.
16 On his robe and on his banner (thigh is a mistranslation) he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords.
The Hebrew words for banner or flag, and the word thigh are very similar in Hebrew and look nearly identical in pen strokes. Scholars have shown this was an early mistranslation from Hebrew to Greek. I believe the word thigh is out of place here. The word flag or banner makes far more sense.
In a deeper note, we see how this is evidence that the book of revelation was originally given in Hebrew, not Greek. This also lends support for several verses saying Jesus would be coming quickly in the Greek, but “suddenly” in the Hebrew, changing from WHEN he would come (quickly) to HOW he would come (suddenly), which makes far more sense, an evidence that Preterists wish to ignore. Since Revelation was given in the 1st century, coming quickly would not be a whole 1900 years later (unless he was referring to that 66AD coming as just a sign, in the sign of the son of man, shown more at 66ad.blogspot.com). We see how it makes far more sense of him coming “suddenly.” You can AI this topic’s search terms for reference.
17 Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, and with a loud voice he called to all the birds that fly directly overhead, “Come, gather for the great supper of God, 18 to eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all men, both free and slave,[d] both small and great.” 19 And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth with their armies gathered to make war against him who was sitting on the horse and against his army. 20 And the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who in its presence[e] had done the signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped its image. These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur. 21 And the rest were slain by the sword that came from the mouth of him who was sitting on the horse, and all the birds were gorged with their flesh.
As we’ve shown in the commentary of Revelation 16 into 17, this final form of the beast is “the eighth” head version of the beast, spoken of in Revelation 17. It also mentions that false prophet who enforced the mark. That would be the Catholic empire still in a residual power at his return. She also gets judged. If you remember, in the Revelation 11 commentary, as we’ve pointed out, the 2 churches of the dark ages were defined by revelation 1:20 as 2 of the 7 church ages. It also calls those 2 “prophets.” So since those 2 churches were also called “prophets”, the false prophet would be the false church, the Catholic church, who Jesus will destroy at his coming.
His coming in judgment here will be that fulfilling of the Zechariah 14 war and the Ezekiel 38 war, when the armies come down to invade Israel. Will those armies be Islam, China, Russia and the EU who was taken over, coming with the Turkish and Iranian armies? That remains to be seen, but we also see, on this judgment day, the apostate harlot catholic church gets destroyed a swell.
Its says And the rest were slain by the sword that came from the mouth of him who was sitting on the horse, and all the birds were gorged with their flesh.
Would that be those in other nations globally, like the murderous atheist commies of China and other wicked governments? I believe so.
The main point I want to make with this commentary is that this order of events goes against the pre tribulation rapture theory. Scripture in Revelation 17:11 into Revelation 18 first shows the destruction of this modern day Babylon, centered here in the US. Then after those events, Revelation 19 shows the marriage supper Resurrection/Rapture, then after, his return to judge the nations.
1. Rev 18 destruction - tribulation
2. Resurrection/Rapture Marriage supper
3. Return to judge
Remember, you can’t have a marriage supper without we the bride, so the obvious conclusion here is this is when the Resurrection takes place.
That order of events goes against many pre and post tribulational teachers, with the pre tribbers correct in seeing 2 comings of the Lord, come for, then coming with his saints, as clearly shown in Revelation 19, but the pre tribbers are wrong in expecting the rapture to come before the short intense tribulation of the Revelation 18 destruction of modern day Babylon.
Those looking for a 7 year tribulation from Daniel 9’s 70th week, are in error. The 70th was fulfilled long ago, as shown at 70fulfilled.blogspot.com
